LifeShare Introduces Electronic Medication Logs!
August 2, 2012
We are thrilled to announce LifeShare’s launch into agency-wide paperless medication administration. Shared living homes will now document medication administration through our secure web-based document management system. Medication will be entered into the Medication History module with supporting medication orders from the doctor. The Medication History module includes an allergy profile and detects drug interactions before configuration of the Medication Administration Record (MAR) becomes available to the person administering.
Users are able to track when a medication has been administered to an Individual along with any comments. On the MAR, all 'Scheduled' medications for the Individual appear on a monthly grid. Users can precisely schedule a medication by entering the Frequency, Starting from date and the Schedule Time into the Medication History form. Medications can then be administered as per schedule and recorded. Monthly MAR reports can be generated and exported to PDF format. This includes information such as Medication Name, Time Administered, Administered By, and Comments. The First DataBank Drug Database interface significantly enhances both MAR and Medication History modules by providing users with easy access to relevant drug information including Drug Image, Drug Identification, Dosage Information, Precaution, Drug Disease Contraindications, Side Effects, Monographs. This will lead to better individual care and will substantially lower the risk of medication errors.
This change to electronic medication logs is the next step in innovative, community based support. LifeShare is proud to be paving the way!
