Congratulations to Ashley Cranston who has transitioned from Associate Director of Therapeutic Services to Director of Targeted Case Management! In this role, Ashley has already begun to increase compliance of the program, brought on an additional TCM in Tallahassee as well as in Tampa, and most importantly formed positive energy and success of the Targeted Case Management Team! Ashley’s leadership in this role will allow the program to grow at a healthy rate and put LifeShare in a good place to work toward expanding to additional funding sources for the program.
In addition to Ashley’s leadership, two LifeShare TCM’s have been promoted to “Lead TCM”. Congratulations to Angelina Rivera and Tamara Mohammad! Hard work, dedication and passion for their role as a TCM has put them in this new leadership position in which they will assist with training new staff, marketing and community presentations as well as assist in overall compliance of TCM documentation.

Region 7: We just had our Halloween Party, which was a huge success, as usual! Everyone enjoyed dressing up. We had a wonderful DJ playing music, so there was a lot of dancing! Group Sports on Wednesdays just ended, and we're gearing up for our weekly Skills Classes on Tuesdays at the South Main Street Church. Cooking classes continue on each Thursday at South Main Street Church, as well. Everyone is busy with the change in seasons, as our two main volunteer locations have lots of yard work to be done! At Camp Allen, people work on yard work, laundry, and light maintenance through the winter and spring, until camp season starts again! At the Unitarian Church, groups help with recycling, yard work, and light cleaning, and we have a new keeper of the keys! Previously, the church was only willing to let staff take the keys to unlock each room, but one gentleman in our program has shown that he is responsible and really takes the job seriously, so he carries the key and unlocks the doors for the rest of the group. We are working on a Thanksgiving Luncheon, which we have done in the past. Everyone enjoys having a chance to celebrate the things we are thankful for in our lives. Our Holiday Party is planned for December 14 at the Hooksett Library.
Region 8 just had our Halloween Party that was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy! Even though we moved it into November, everyone’s Halloween spirit carried through and we had a great time! We are looking into finding more community space to start a monthly Art Class. In the upcoming months, we are planning to do some volunteering with the elderly and start up the Christmas Caroling / Chorus again. We have a party planned for Thanksgiving around what we are most thankful for! Everyone plans to come with one thing that they are truly grateful for.Region 8 is still volunteering in our community in specific locations; Meals on Wheels, the Soup Kitchen, Second Generations (Store in Hampton) and the Salvation Army.
We continue to partake in fun activities such as TJ Wheeler music class located at the Bethany church and Zumba every Friday!
Region 10 is having our belated Halloween party on Friday November9th. This party was originally planned for October 30th. Due to the storm and program being closed our staff pulled together to reschedule the party instead of just cancel. The staff in Region 10 felt that the individuals should not miss out on this party especially since some of our guys were bringing things in and spent time preparing for the party. The party is being held at 10:00am at the Chester Recreational Center. Staff and individuals are decorating the space and setting up tables and chairs to prepare for the party on Thursday November 8th. A lot of time and effort has been put into securing the Halloween party. Everyone in Region 10 pulled together and they are making it happen. Our guys in Region 10 are very excited and look forward to celebrating.

Summer Fun - New Hampshire Adult Services
Our Manchester area day program kicked off summer with a summer picnic at Crystal Lake Park in Manchester on 6/20/12. All groups were in attendance and everyone seemed to have a great time. We had lots of food and everyone went swimming in the lake. We are doing yoga/ meditation classes at Livingston Park two days a week throughout the summer. This is a class that everyone seems to enjoy. We are also doing group sports every Wednesday at either Livingston Park or Lally Field. The sports played are usually either bocce ball, wiffle ball, basketball or kickball. We have also identified a new volunteer site that is open to all of our groups. It is call "Grow A Row" located in Goffstown. This is a garden that grows fruits and vegetables for those in need. Volunteers will assist with watering, weeding, picking and delivering food to local food pantries. What a great start to the summer!
Our Hampstead area day program has developed a very popular weekly cooking class held at the Atkinson Community Center. There we have access to a full kitchen as well as to an open room for staff and individuals we support to congregate together and enjoy the food they made. Each cooking class teaches basic skills of how to prepare and cook different simple to moderately simple dishes. Each week a different group is in charge of coming up with a dish to make. That group then purchases the needed ingredients prior to the class. Everyone participates by cutting, chopping, mixing, measuring, and stirring. Each class has a main dish, a drink, desert, and depending on the main dish a side as well. Recent dishes the groups have prepared and made include: chicken quesadillas, chicken cordon bleu, personal pizzas, and a meatball casserole.
Our Seacoast day program started a new volunteering opportunity with Kingston State Park! The group volunteers on Monday mornings by cleaning up the park. After volunteering, the group spends the rest of the day at the park and enjoys swimming in the lake and hiking the various trails! In August, the group will continue to play sports in the park on Fridays at Stratham Hill Park. The group continues to tend to the community garden in Stratham. Some of the vegetables have started to sprout! Region 8 is looking forward to another month of great weather and visiting local parks and beaches, such as Hampton Beach, Rye and Odiorne State Park.

The LifeShare Dover office staff and friends will be starting a community garden in Stratham sometime in May as we are eagerly awaiting the warm weather. Our group will be planting various flowers and vegetables. In keeping with the garden fresh food theme, we participated in a trip to Apple Hurst Farm in Epping for hiking, ice cream tasting and a cow-milking demonstration on April 28th.
LifeShare is excited to announce a new volunteer opportunity by partnering with the Salvation Army in Portsmouth. Through their volunteer work with the Salvation Army individuals will gain valuable work experience while building their resumes.
Important upcoming events: Every Friday there will be Sports in the Park at Stratham Hill Park. Also, the Dover team will be having a BBQ at Hilton Park on May 25th to kick off the summer season!

The LifeShare Hampstead Office would like to send out several thank-yous to people who made a difference to many individuals in our program.
One of the Life Coaches in the Hampstead office, Jen D., had recognized the importance of the topic of safety. So she researched available trainings offered in the several surrounding communities that folks at LifeShare maybe able to attend.
After making many calls to local towns, she was able to set up a visit with the Salem Fire Department . Not only was a tour given, but a class on fire safety as well.
We would like to thank the all of the fire fighters who took time out of their busy day in order to make a difference in the lives of some very appreciative people. We can’t express how many times someone has asked if he/she can demonstrate how to use a fire extinguisher appropriately since that class. Thank you Salem Fire Department!
LifeShare offers a variety of educational services to meet the need of students who are having trouble in school and also have either legal or mental health issues. These services are short term in nature and designed to help the child become integrated back into a school community.

NH Region 10
The Hampstead office would like to share a success story that is a true testament to LifeShare’s motto, “Real Life for Real People,”where LifeShare believes that the community should be open to people of all abilities.
Over the past few months one of our life coaches has been helping a young woman acclimate to her community. She experiences difficulties while engaged in social situations, and her team has asked that LifeShare provide assistance with this. In a short time this young woman has not only adjusted to being in a professional work environment of a town hall, but also learned work related skills, taken pride in her accomplishments and developed relationships in the community. The appreciation she continually receives from those she is in contact with has overflowed into the Hampstead office via e-mails and a letter addressed to the Board of Selectmen.

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING
LifeShare Staff Give All Year Long!
The minute the last ornament was placed on the tree, the first one was taken off.
LifeShare staff give of themselves every single day to assist those they work with and it is obvious that the giving and caring certainly doesn’t stop at the Holidays. In searching for way to bring the Season’s cheer to the kids they support, LifeShare staff came up with a way to spread Holiday cheer and give back.
This year 40 ornaments adorn the Christmas tree at LifeShare.
These ornaments which were handcrafted by LifeShare Child Services staff and are available for a $20 donation.
All the proceeds from the ornaments will be used to benefit the children whose names appear on the ornaments. For these children there is no abundance of holiday gifts at home and without the generosity of the staff and of those who chose an ornament, they might otherwise have no gifts for the Holiday. We are fortunate to give at this time of year in the spirit of the season and we receive so much more by experiencing the joy of sharing and caring.

NH Child Services is excited to announce that the educational programs are starting the school year off with a great deal of enthusiasm. Enrollment numbers are climbing as the projected enrollment of 4 or more students will be met within the next two weeks.
Also this month, 4 Therapeutic Day Treatment Program Alumni called to say hello and to let us know how they are doing. It was wonderful to know that our previous participants feel a bond with us as we encourage them to keep the connection with LifeShare. It is very rewarding to know that as participants move on with their lives they will reach out to us after they are through programs.
